Kempenfest

The first weekend in August is a land mark for our city.  We are host to North America's largest Arts & Crafts Festival with over 350 arts and crafts exhibits and antique dealers situated along the shores of Kempfelt Bay.

Kempenfest 2008 was selected as one of the Top 100 Festivals and Events in Ontario.  With vendors arriving from around North America, it's a great venue to explore and experience as part of your summer travels.  Throughout the weekend, musicians entertained the public, with the Martels topping off the bill Monday afternoon.

Often it rains on the long Civic Holiday weekend, and this summer was no different! The good thing was that the rain only lasted a couple of hours on Saturday, rather than being spread out throughout
the entire weekend. It would have really put a damper on things if that had been the case!

Tatum

Tatum, my Teddy Bear On The Go, is still attached at the hip as we continue walking down by the waterfront most early mornings.  He traveled to Ottawa with me to visit my daughter who works for Mitel, took a jaunt to the Canadian Aviation Museum; and the following week traveled to New York City.

He was overwhelmed by all the sites and sounds of New York. In addition  to the cruise on The Spirit of the Hudson, he visited a toy store, a couple of museums, saw lots of theatre on Broadway, went to the Top of the Rock (top of the Rockefeller Center) and saw many turtles in the Turtle Pond in Central Park. Tatum was pretty tired by the time he traveled home on the train.

Remember to check out our Teddy Bear Hall of Fame for more adventures of a Teddy Bear On The Go (R).

To the Teddy Bear lover in us all!
